Mobile test prep company Pocket Prep today announces the recipients of its Spring 2022 Racial Equity Scholarship. Five candidates have been chosen from a pool of 204 applicants to receive a fully covered certification exam process and financial support.
These recipients applied for the scholarship in early 2022 for a certification exam being taken between July 15, 2022 and January 15, 2023. All applicants were judged on criteria that included expressing a clear passion for and deep understanding of their chosen field, demonstrating how the scholarship would bring them closer to their career goals, and experiencing barriers to success in their educational or career journey.
The recipients of the Summer 2022 Pocket Prep Racial Equity Scholarship and their respective career certifications are:
- Megan Braida, Social Work (ASWB BSW)
- Kellie Gardner, Paramedic (NREMT® Paramedic)
- Maribel Guevara-Myers, Counselor (NBCC® NCE)
- Jessica Juan, Physical Therapist (FSBPT® NPTE-PT)
- Ashley Lucas, Occupational Therapist (NBCOT OTR®)
Each scholarship recipient has been awarded the following:
- Free access to Pocket Prep’s premium study material for their chosen exam
- Full reimbursement for their chosen exam’s registration fee
- All textbooks required for their chosen exam
- Exam-related study materials such as study guides or practice exams up to $250
- A check for $1,500 intended for study support upon receipt of exam registration

People of color continue to face inequitable obstacles and systemic injustice in the pursuit of education and career advancement each and every day.
