Achieve proficiency in cybersecurity assessment and secure your role in the CMMC ecosystem by earning the CCA credentials.
The CMMC-AB Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA) exam, offered by the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body (CMMC-AB), is designed for professionals responsible for assessing and verifying an organization’s cybersecurity practices against the CMMC framework.
This certification validates your ability to conduct assessments across various CMMC levels, ensuring that organizations meet the necessary cybersecurity standards. It is crucial for roles in cybersecurity consulting, auditing, and compliance within industries handling sensitive information, particularly in the defense sector.
The CMMC-AB has defined multiple roles within the CMMC ecosystem, with Certified CMMC Assessors playing a key role in ensuring that organizations meet the cybersecurity maturity levels required by the Department of Defense (DoD). These assessors conduct formal evaluations of a company’s cybersecurity practices and are responsible for submitting findings that determine whether the company achieves certification. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity and security of the defense supply chain.
Eligibility for the CCA certification requires candidates to hold a current Professional (CCP) certification, have a minimum of five years of professional experience in cybersecurity, and complete CMMC-AB's required training for assessors. Additionally, candidates must pass a background check and adhere to a strict code of professional ethics.
The exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions with a time limit of 4 hours. Overall performance on the CCA exam is reported on a standardized scale score ranging from 200 to 800. A scaled score of 500 or greater is required to pass. The CCA certification is valid for three years; certification holders must earn continuing education credits to renew it.
