Begin your teaching career in California with confidence by acing the CBEST® using our expert test prep. Gain the skills and knowledge to pass on your first attempt and start your teaching journey with a solid foundation.
The CBEST® (California Basic Educational Skills Test) is administered by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) to evaluate basic reading, mathematics, and writing skills. Passing the CBEST® is a requirement for obtaining a teaching credential in California. The CBEST® is no longer required for most teaching credentials if you have a bachelor's degree. The test consists of three sections:

Writing Test
- Reading Section: 50 multiple-choice questions; 1 hour and 30 minutes
- Mathematics Section: 50 multiple-choice questions; 2 hours
- Writing Section: 2 essays; 1 hour and 30 minutes
Each section costs $30, and candidates must register and pay for each section separately. A total score of 123 for all 3 sections is required to pass.
